The movie is set in the 1700s in what is now chip in out today as Brazil and Argentina. The main characters be Mandoza who affiance to capture and sell the autochthonals to wealthy owners. The movie goes on to show the sufferance of Mandoza and the others into the native tribe, as they build the mission. During all of this however, there is a great power struggle amid Church and State as the priming coat is being sold from Spain to Portugal. The Portuguese great power wan ts the tribe to be out of the mission so tha! t they chamberpot enslave them and happen upon over the land. The movie ends with a fight scene between the natives and the Portuguese army, with the natives losing. All priests and missionarys are shortly and there are only very few native survivors. The movie shows how Christianity was a major moving force in the development of Hesperian civilization.
